Wildfires across the Pacific Northwest continue to affect communities throughout the region, creating significant challenges for local families and businesses. Ranchers and farmers are among those hardest hit, often facing the loss of grazing land, crops, fencing, livestock feed, equipment, and other critical resources. Beyond the immediate challenges, recovery can take months or even years, placing considerable financial and emotional strain on communities. The following organizations are providing relief to those impacted by the wildfires, helping meet immediate needs while supporting long-term recovery efforts for ranchers, farmers, families, and entire communities.

In memory of our dear colleague, Sergei Shumski, we have created this fundraising page in his memory. In consultation with Sergei's family the Hartstichting (Dutch Heart Foundation) was chosen as cause. The foundation works to combat heart and vascular diseases through scientific research, early detection, and public education. On June 24, two devastating earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, struck Venezuela just seconds apart. More than 5,000 people lost their lives, an estimated 1.3 million people now need humanitarian assistance, and the World Bank estimates the disaster caused $19.6 billion in direct physical damage. This fund was created to support trusted organizations providing food, shelter, medical care, and other essential relief to families affected by the earthquakes.

The band boosters fund the school music program for student instrument repairs, new music sheets, uniform maintenance, and the chance to play music at Walt Disney World, which takes place every 5 years. Through fundraising the boosters raise money to limit costs to families for the trip as well as costs associated with the program over all. This band of 8-12th graders plays in parades, at games, and has recently started doing more specialized events like street fairs and festivals.

As we come together in Amsterdam to celebrate World Pride, we also want to stand in solidarity with the many LGBTQIA+ people in the Netherlands and around the world who are still fighting for the right to live openly, safely, and authentically. While many of us are fortunate to be welcomed, supported, and celebrated, we must not forget those who continue to face discrimination, exclusion, and threats to their fundamental rights. Pride is both a celebration and a reminder that the journey towards equality is not yet complete. We hope you will consider contributing to this fundraiser in support of organisations working to advance LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion. The Roosje Glaser Foundation aims to draw worldwide attention to Roosje Glaser's Dutch war story in order to reflect on the dangers of racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination, as well as the importance of freedom, equal rights and democracy. No Kid Hungry donations stay local and this organization provides meals for children in our community who otherwise would go hungry without the support of this organization.
