Cisco’s Inclusive Communities have established this Fund to support organizations driving Social Justice across the globe. After you make a donation, be sure to match your contribution through your employer’s matching gifts program if available. If you are a Cisco employee, please make and match your donation at cisco.brightfunds.org. A note on tax deductibility: This fund includes organizations based in the U.S., and in other countries. Donors in the U.S. who make a credit card donation will receive a receipt for tax deductibility for all contributions to this fund or the organizations included. June is Pride Month. Pride is celebrated annually in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots, and works to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Americans. This Pride Fund supports organizations that promote the safety and advance the wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community through advocacy, direct services, mental and physical health accessibility, education, and public policy changes. Through a single donation to this Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives working to ensure acceptance, equity, and justice for all.

Given the rise in violence and discriminatory laws against the Transgender community, this fund has been established to collect and disseminate funds to organizations around the globe that are supporting the community locally.

This fund was set up to support nonprofits + charities, which were selected by Pantheon staff + community members, in improving the lives + expanding the rights of those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Each nonprofit listed here is involved in work that benefits the LGBTQIA+ community in some capacity, + 100% of the funds raised will be split evenly between the 50 organizations. Anyone can contribute to this fund, so please share it far + wide! If you do donate, remember to also ask your employer if they’ll match your donation. Note: Pantheon matches donations for full-time employees up to $500 USD per year per employee, up to $25K USD per year.

Selection of non-profits for Black History Month that provide support and services to Black Trans and Gender Non-Conforming people. Within the Black community, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming individuals face devastating levels of discrimination and violence that stem from transphobia and bigotry compounded by structural racism. Every year, the number of trans individuals murdered is dubbed the "Deadliest year on record for transgender people". In 2021 there were 375 transgender people murdered. This number is realistically much higher due to under reporting of crimes. The trans community of color was also exponentially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States: • 26% of transgender people of color have become unemployed • 67% transgender people of color are no longer able to pay their bills • 58% of transgender people of color have had their work hours reduced • 27% of transgender people of color have had their pay cut • 31% of transgender people of color have had to take unpaid leave • 30% of transgender people of color have been forced to switch to part-time working hours

Queerspace and it's members have suggested the following LGBTQIA+ organizations to support or June 2022 Pride Month, which support a wide variety of issues and causes impacting the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you for your consideration!

Transgender Awareness Week is celebrated from November 13th through November 19th each year, and aims to increase public knowledge surrounding the common issues faced by the transgender community including discrimination and prejudice in various forms, socioeconomic and healthcare inequities, and acts of violence, among others. Additionally, Transgender Awareness Week highlights the importance of trans visibility in all spaces, showcases stories and experiences from within the transgender community, and encourages allies to stand in solidarity by showing their support and commitment to working towards justice and equality. Transgender Awareness Week precedes Transgender Day of Remembrance, observed annually on November 20th. Transgender Day of Remembrance memorializes the lives lost to targeted, anti-transgender violence and advocates for the fight for justice. In addition to supporting nonprofit organizations with a donation, you can participate by organizing or attending a vigil to honor those who have lost their lives to targeted acts of violence. Your donation to this Fund will help support the selected organizations' shared mission of providing support in all forms to the transgender community, increasing trans visibility, and advocating for justice and inclusion through direct client services, policy development, and educational programming.
