On December 14th, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted to dismantle net neutrality regulations. Net Neutrality protections were established during the Obama administration to protect Americans' online communication and ensure that all Internet service providers are treating web traffic equally. The implications of this vote reach far and wide, impacting both low income and minority populations negatively. In response to this vote, Bright Funds has established the Net Neutrality Fund to support nonprofits working to protect the rights of Internet users.

Electronic Frontier Foundation Inc

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is the leading nonprofit defending digital privacy, free speech and innovation. They have set up tools to enable users to both email and call Members of Congress, who will have an important role to play. The EFF is part of the Battle for the Net coalition, which is hosting an online petition and promoting offline actions.

Mozilla Foundation

The Mozilla Foundation is a global non-profit dedicated to putting you in control of your online experience and shaping the future of the web for the public good. Mozilla Foundation fights to save a healthy Internet, with grassroots advocacy work and software that enables the open web. To keep net neutrality intact, Mozilla deployed Paperstorm, their activism website developed alongside design studio Moniker.

American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc.

In 2015 the ACLU fought for net neutrality protections and against enormous odds, they won. The ACLU and their allies will be fighting back in every possible arena to restore the crucial protections provided by net neutrality. The ACLU conserves America's original civic values working in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
