Catholic Relief Services, Inc.
Catholic Relief Services has mobilized a team to reach the families affected by this new disaster. Along with local partners, CRS will identify the greatest needs for providing emergency relief and assistance. Catholic Relief Services would work with partners - including other members of Caritas, the Catholic charitable network - “to help people cope and recover.”
International Medical Corps
International Medical Corps is already working with a local aid organization to assess the most urgent needs (which, based on initial reports, include medical supplies, temporary shelters, food, household items and clean water) and stands ready to support the government of Indonesia to provide relief to the women, men and children affected by this disaster.
Islamic Relief USA
Islamic Relief is on the ground now providing vital humanitarian aid fueled by donations we receive. Islamic Relief efforts in Indonesia began in 2000; the Jakarta office opened in 2003 to implement long-term relief and development. Islamic Relief affiliates continue to work on rehabilitation projects in response to natural disasters that have hit the area.
Oxfam-America Inc.
Oxfam is working with the Government of Indonesia and with local partners to reach people affected by the tsunamis with critical aid, helping to provide clean water, build toilets, and distribute hygiene kits that include blankets and soap.
