Eden Reforestation Projects
To offer the dignity of fair employment to people living in impoverished communities, who become transformational agents of global forest restoration.
Amazon Watch
Since 1996, Amazon Watch has protected the rainforest and advanced the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. We partner with indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability, and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems.
American Forest Foundation
(U.S. forests, carbon offsets): AFF is a forest conservation organization that works with family forest landowners, conservationists, corporations, community-based organizations and policymakers to promote stewardship and keep our forests healthy. AFF's signature program, the American Tree Farm System® is the country's largest sustainable woodland program with a network of more than 70,000 family forest owners managing nearly 19 million acres of forestland. AFF has also partnered with The Nature Conservancy to expand the Family Forest Carbon Program, which empowers America's forest landowners to tap into carbon markets and keep forests healthy and connected. AFF has also pledged to plant or regenerate over 84 million trees and maintain or restore 6.3 billion trees between 2020 and 2030 - https://us.1t.org/pledge/reforesting-and-restoring-americas-family-owned-forests/
Rainforest Trust
(Global forests, rainforest) Rainforest Trust saves endangered wildlife and protects our planet by creating rainforest reserves through partnerships, community engagement and donor support.
Trees for the Future, Inc.
(Reforestation): Trees for the Future is dedicated to improving the livelihoods of impoverished farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa by revitalizing degraded lands. Through our 4-year training program, called the Forest Garden Approach, farmers plant thousands of trees that protect and bring nutrients back to the soil.
National Forest Foundation
(U.S. forest): Chartered by Congress, the NFF was created with a simple mission: bring people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands. Working on behalf of the American public, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. We believe these lands, and all they provide, are an American treasure and are vital to the health of our communities. NFF has pledge to plant 50 million trees between 2020 and 2030 - https://us.1t.org/pledge/50-million-for-our-forests/
Earthjustice
(Legal protection): We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people's health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change. We are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.
Trees, Water & People
(Global forests, indigenous people): TWP is guided by two core beliefs: that natural resources are best protected when local people play an active role in their care and management, and that preserving local ecosystems is essential for the ongoing social, economic, and environmental health of communities everywhere. TWP works in South America and tribal lands in the U.S. to improve people's lives by helping communities protect, conserve and manage the natural resources upon which their long-term well-being depends. TWP is a reforestation partner for Print ReLeaf's pledge to plant 10 million trees - https://us.1t.org/pledge/the-printreleaf-10-million-standard-tree-pledge/
Plant With Purpose
(Global forests, reforestation): PWP works at the nexus of poverty and environmental degradation to transform the lives and land of farming communities through environmental restoration, economic empowerment, and spiritual renewal. PWP plants 5 million trees each year in some of the most deforested and environmentally degraded parts of the world. We work with local teams in eight countries and partner with almost 50,000 smallholder farmers, teaching them to grow and plant trees using agroforestry systems which restore the land on which their livelihoods depend. PWP has pledged to plant 40 million trees between 2020 and 2025 - https://us.1t.org/pledge/40m-trees-empower-rural-farmers-to-reverse-poverty/
American Forests
(U.S. forests): AF is the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization in the United States. AF creates healthy and resilient forests, from cities to wilderness, that deliver essential benefits for climate, people, water and wildlife. Our work conserves the forests we already have and restores damaged forests. We use a variety of techniques to restore forest health. One of our main techniques is reforestation. Since 1990, we have planted nearly 60 million trees in forest restoration projects in all 50 states. AF has pledged to plant 100 million trees between 2020 and 2030 to Reforest America - https://us.1t.org/pledge/reforest-america/
